Govt. of Kerala bans the sale of substandard drugs

The Kerala Drugs Control Department on July 05, 2022 has issued a notification to ban the distribution and selling of a few batches of drugs that are found to be of substandard quality, following the sample test conducted during the second quarter of June.

It is instructed to all the traders and hospitals holding stock of these drugs should return them to the distributors and inform the district drug control authorities concerned about the details.

The following substandard drugs have been banned:

• Bisoprolol Fumarate Tablets USP 5mg, M/s. Swiss Garnier Life Sciences, 21-23, Industrial Area, Mehatpur, Dist. UNA, Himachal Pradesh-174315, 54TBF010, 08/2024.

• Metronidazole Tablets IP 400mg, M/s. Kerala State Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Kalavoor P.O., Alappuzha-688522, S2 1222, 05/2024.
