Government of Kerala is inclined to give dairy farmers an incentive for the milk they supply in Cooperative Societies

The Government of Kerala on July 23, 2022, issued a notification regarding the supply of milk in cooperative societies, dairy farmers will be given an incentive of Rs 4 per liter for the milk they supply in cooperative societies. This year, Rs 29.57 crore has been set aside for the scheme, which will be implemented from August 1, 2022. Fodder prices of Milma and Kerala Feeds will not be increased. Fodder cultivation will be spread over 2231 hectares. Around 15,000 farmers will benefit. 5 lakh tonnes of green grass will be produced in excess. A loan of up to Rs 20,099 per cow will be available at four per cent interest if the repayment is done correctly. The Ksheeragram scheme will be implemented in 20 panchayats this year and quarantine centers and sale centers will be started at the borders to accommodate cattle brought from other states.
