Kerala Govt. issues Health Insurance Scheme for State Government Employees and Pensioners

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Finance (Health Insurance) Department, Kerala on August 06, 2022 issues Health Insurance Scheme for State Government Employees and Pensioners. 

The details of the employees, pensioners and their dependents made available on the MEDISEP portal and will be available on the website www.medisep.kerala.gov.in by providing the requested information under 'Status' option. It has been clearly instructed that the employees/pensioners should approach the concerned DDO/Treasury Officer respectively to correct the errors, corrections and additions in the Status Report.

MEDISEP ID related to MEDISEP membership for employees and pensioners. The card can be downloaded by logging into the web portal www.medisep.kerala.gov.in. Pensioners can use their MEDISEP I.D. Login as user ID and PPO Number/FEN Number as Password. 

The following instructions are stated, namely:

• Employees/pensioners/their dependents should produce their MEDISEP I.D. before approaching patients for treatment under MEDISEP scheme. The card should be downloaded and the information entered on the card should be checked for correctness of the dependents. 

• If any kind of errors are found in the information on the card during the verification, it should be ensured that the employees approach the concerned DDOs and the pensioners concerned treasury officers before August 25, 2022  and verify the necessary changes. Any corrections made to the status report after this date will be sent to the MEDISEP I.D. It will not be reflected on the card.

• Employees/Pensioners will be held responsible for such mistakes. For employees approaching for rectification of data before August 25, 2022 concerned pensioners concerned DDOs and Treasury Officers shall provide timely resolution of the problem without complaint.

• Pensioners MEDISEP data update provided by Treasuries is yet to be made available fully flawlessly.

• As per the existing provision, the scheme instead requires the verified information to be forwarded to the insurance company within a specified period. In such case those who do not verify and update the correct information before August 25, 2022, will not be eligible for MEDISEP benefit. Therefore, the last data update applications available before the date should also be processed in the MEDISEP portal before the last date. 

• After August 25, 2022 there will be only opportunity for data additions or exclusions as specified in the scheme. 

Only those named in the card can get treatment facility in empanelled hospitals subject to the conditions mentioned in the scheme under the benefit of this card. Treatment will not be available in hospitals on the basis of Status Report downloaded from MEDISEP portal.
