DGFT amends an older notification related to the export policy of Rice

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on August 17, 2022, issued a notification regarding an amendment to notification no. 61/2015-2020 dated March 23, 2022. The policy condition in Chapter 10 at Serial No. 55 and 57, Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) export policy, 2019 for the export of rice in other countries have been amended. 

The following policy condition has been revised, namely:

• For Serial No. 55 which specifies “Non-Basmati Rice” the following policy condition has been revised: 

Export to EU Member States and European countries namely the United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland permitted subject to the issuance of a Certificate of Inspection by the Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency.

Certificate of Inspection by Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency shall be mandatory for export to remaining European countries with effect from January 01, 2023. 

• For Serial No. 57 which specifies “Basmati Rice, semi-milled, milled both in either par-boiled or raw condition” the following policy condition has been revised: 

Export to EU Member States and European countries namely the United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland permitted subject to the issuance of a Certificate of Inspection by the Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency.

Certificate of Inspection by Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency shall be mandatory for export to remaining European countries with effect from January 01, 2023.
