Central Motor Vehicles (Sixteenth Amendment) Rules, 2022

Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on September 20, 2022 has issued Central Motor Vehicles (Sixteenth Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. This has come into force on September 20, 2022.

The following has been amended namely: -

• Rule 11 which stated “Preliminary Test” Sub-rule (1) has been substituted namely: -

“Within seven days of submitting an application under rule 10, every applicant for a learner’s license shall complete a tutorial on safe driving, electronically on a Portal, either accessed by the applicant himself or with the help of a Facilitation Centre.”

• In Rule 31J which states “Syllabus for imparting instructions in driving of motor vehicles” in relation to “Light Motor Vehicle Driving” New clause AA which states “Two Wheeler Driving” has been inserted.
