The Government of Jharkhand on January 17, 2024, issued the Draft Jharkhand Power Policy, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The main objective of this power policy is to ensure that the State power sector acts as a driver to the socio-economic development in the state and brings it at par with other developed States taking advantage of the latest available technologies.
• The Jharkhand Electricity Policy covers the different areas as given below:
1. Generation
2. Transmission
3. Distribution
4. Grid operation
5. Power markets
6. Regulatory Process
7. Power Quality & Reliability
8. Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency
9. Adoption of Electric Vehicles and creation of Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure
