The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on May 13, 2025, issued a notification regarding the notified Rice Seed Varieties.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government, under Section 5 of the Seeds Act, 1966, has notified specific rice seed varieties for regulated seed production and sale across various Indian states.
•These include DRR Dhan 81, Sabour Mahsuri Dhan, Sabour Kunwar Dhan, and others, each approved for sale in designated states or union territories.
•The notification ensures quality standards for seeds used in agriculture. These varieties are officially recognized from the date of Gazette publication.
