The Govt of Uttar Pradesh, on November 05, 025, issued a notification regarding a 100 % exemption in the road tax for pure electric vehicles (EVs) registered in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
This exemption applies to EVs purchased and registered in Uttar Pradesh during two phases: first, for vehicles bought and registered between October 14, 2022 and October 13, 2025, covering the initial three years of the policy; and second, for vehicles purchased and registered between October 14, 2025 and October 13, 2027, corresponding to the fourth and fifth years of the policy’s effective period.
Note: For the purpose of this exemption, only pure electric vehicles (Pure EVs) shall be considered eligible.
