Industry Specific ComplianceThe University Grants Commission (UGC), on June 19, 2026, issued a second reminder to all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) regarding compliance with the Hon'ble Supreme Court's Order dated November 7, 2025, in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 5 of 2025 – "City Hounded by Strays, Kids Pay Price". The communication reiterates the need to prevent stray dog ingress and ensure safety within educational campuses.

UGC referred to its earlier advisories dated December 18, 2025, and April 15, 2026, which directed HEIs to undertake specific safety measures and submit details of actions taken through a prescribed online reporting mechanism. The Commission observed that several institutions have not yet furnished the required information.

Accordingly, all defaulting HEIs have been directed to submit the pending compliance details through the designated Google Form on or before July 10, 2026, without fail.
