The Government of Tamil Nadu on June 10, 2026, issued revision of Scale of Rates of Chennai Port Authority.
The Chennai Port Authority, in exercise of its powers under the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021, has approved and notified a revised Scale of Rates along with Performance Standards. This revision has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Tariff Policy, 2021, and is intended to regulate tariffs and ensure service efficiency at the port.
As per the policy, the revised Scale of Rates and Performance Standards will come into effect after 30 days from the date of notification. These rates will remain valid for a period of three years.
Additionally, the applicable rates will be subject to annual indexation in line with the provisions specified under the Tariff Policy, 2021, ensuring periodic adjustments during the validity period.
