The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on August 06, 2026, notified regarding the New Interface - MCX UCC File Formats (Version 1.1) and UCC-API (Version 1.0).
The following has been stated:
• The revised formats and API will be effective from September 07, 2026. The changes cover UCC creation/update files, response and error-code files, PAN verification, and files relating to mobile number, email ID, Aadhaar, income and net-worth details.
• Under the new interface, UCC creation through the existing screen will be discontinued and will instead be available through file upload (SFTP/new UCC interface) and UCC-API, while UCC modification through the screen will continue through the new interface. Members can upload up to 50,000 records via file upload and 50 records via the UCC-API. A new client status “Closed” has also been introduced, which, once selected, cannot subsequently be changed to Active/Inactive. Further, a “Nomination” field has been added, and Contact Person 6 to Contact Person 20 fields have been removed.
• The circular also specifies that certain existing Client Classification Upload/Response files and related error-code files remain unchanged from the earlier 2022 interface. The new UCC-API provides Token Generation, Add UCC, Update UCC, Search UCC, and Health Check APIs; API communication will use JSON, and the request body will be encrypted using AES-GCM 256-bit encryption.
