Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) on August 14, 2026, issued a notification regarding Cyber Security Measures and Incident Response.

The following has been stated: -

•The Government has strengthened national cyber security through CERT-In, designated under Section 70B of the IT Act, 2000, which recorded 15.92 lakh, 20.41 lakh and 29.44 lakh incidents in 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively.

•A coordinated framework involving NCSC, NCCC, NCIIPC and sectoral CSIRTs supports threat detection, intelligence sharing and incident response across critical sectors.

•CERT-In conducts cyber drills, security audits, vulnerability assessments, threat advisories and operates platforms such as Cyber Swachhta Kendra for malware detection and removal.

•Government websites and applications undergo regular cyber security audits, while the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 provides a statutory framework for secure and accountable processing of digital personal data.

•The Government also promotes cyber awareness and capacity building through ISEA workshops, national awareness campaigns and CERT-In training programmes for citizens, officials and cyber security professionals.
