The Central Registry of Securitisation Asset Reconstruction and Security Interest of India (CERSAI) on August 14, 2026, issued notification on Facility for Generation and Delivery of Security Interest related MIS Reports.
This CERSAI circular introduces a new email-based delivery facility for Security Interest related MIS Reports, aimed at addressing operational issues that arise when generating large volumes of data.
Currently, registered Entities can generate MIS Reports on Security Interest Charge Registration/Satisfaction for a maximum of one month at a time, with no cap on how many reports they can download in a day. However, several Entities had requested that this period be extended to three months, six months, or longer. CERSAI examined this request but found that generating reports over longer periods, or even one-month reports with a high volume of records, leads to heavy processing loads and can cause system time-outs.
To address this without extending the report period itself, CERSAI has introduced an Email PDF/Email XLS option within its system. Under this facility, an Entity can request an MIS Report for up to one month, and the system will generate and send the report to the email address registered with CERSAI for that Entity/user, typically within one hour of the request (subject to system processing). To prevent overload, each Entity is limited to a maximum of 12 email-based report requests per day.
Importantly, the existing direct-download facility remains unchanged and still has no daily limit on the number of reports generated. So, Entities needing data for periods longer than one month are advised to download reports month-wise using the existing facility and consolidate them internally as needed. The email option is meant to be used particularly when a report is expected to contain a large volume of records, where direct generation or downloading might otherwise be slow or fail.
In essence, CERSAI is not extending the one-month reporting window, but is offering an alternative delivery method (email) to make it easier and more reliable for Entities to obtain reports, especially bulky ones, while asking them to plan around the 12-requests-per-day cap.
