class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on August 24, 2026, notified regarding the Ease of Doing Investments - Modified Norms for Nomination in Demat Accounts.
CDSL has clarified that, where the nominee in a demat account is a minor, the nominee’s Date of Birth and Minor Flag/Nominee Minor Indicator will be mandatory fields. While guardian details remain optional as per the SEBI Circular dated May 29, 2026, if the guardian’s First Name and Last Name are provided, the relationship of the guardian with the nominee will become mandatory in the CDSL system. The functionality is scheduled to go live on August 28, 2026.
