The National Commodity Clearing Limited (NCCL) on August 27, 2026, notified regarding the Settlement Calendar and timelines for submission of delivery intentions for all the futures contracts expiring in September 2026.
The following has been stated:
• It has issued the Settlement Calendar and delivery-intention timelines for Futures Contracts expiring in September 2026. The specified contracts—including Bajra, Barley, Castor, Cocudakl, Groundnut, Guar Gum, Guar Korma, Guar Seed, Isabgol, Jeera, Maize, Pepper, Steel and Yellow Peas—are subject to compulsory physical settlement with staggered delivery. Delivery intentions may be marked during the staggered delivery period, generally up to 6:30 PM, and delivery corresponding to the open position at expiry is mandatory. For contracts expiring on September 16, 17 and 18, 2026, physical delivery/funds settlement will take place on September 18, 21 and 22, 2026, respectively, with subsequent premium/discount, close-out and GST settlements as per the prescribed calendar.
• Sellers shall provide delivery-location preferences through NCFE, and failure to meet delivery obligations attracts prescribed penalties, including an additional 3% penalty where a seller holding requisite warehouse stocks or having marked delivery intention defaults. Repeated delivery defaults (three or more within a rolling six-month period) attract a further 3% penalty for each instance.
• Sellers shall also update invoices and related physical-delivery information within the prescribed timelines, while buyers are required to confirm the information within the specified period; late fees apply for non-compliance, and applicable GST on delivery-default penalties will be collected along with the penalty.
