The Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 17, 2026, issued the Madhya Pradesh Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani Graduate Admission Rules, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The rules outline the admission rules for undergraduate (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BNYS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) medical courses in traditional medicine systems across state-run and private institutions. For undergraduate entry, candidates shall be at least 17 years old, have cleared their 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and secured a valid rank in the NEET-UG exam. For postgraduate admissions, applicants shall possess a recognized bachelor's degree, complete a mandatory rotatory internship, and clear the centralized AIAPGET exam. Seat distribution allocates 15% to the All India Quota overseen by the central body, while the remaining 85% is reserved for state domicile residents managed via the MP Online AYUSH portal. The state enforces strict reservation rules, including vertical quotas for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories, along with horizontal reservations of 33% for women, 6% for persons with disabilities (PWD), 3% for defense personnel, and 3% for freedom fighters.
• In postgraduate courses, a dedicated 25% of clinical seats is reserved for state in-service medical officers who have completed 5 years of regular service, subject to a maximum age cap of 45 years and a compulsory 5-year post-degree service bond worth ₹10 Lakhs. The structural process requires an online profile creation with a ₹600 registration fee and a ₹50 choice-locking fee to participate in sequential allotment phases, including an institutional Stray Vacancy round for remaining seats. Standard annual tuition fees for government autonomous colleges range from ₹35,000 to ₹40,000 for undergraduate tracks and ₹45,000 for postgraduate specializations, plus a refundable ₹10,000 caution deposit.
• Candidates are permitted to exit or cancel their seats until the conclusion of Round 3 with a 10% processing deduction penalty capped at ₹10,000, after which all submitted academic fees are entirely forfeited. Finally, the guidelines carry a zero-tolerance policy against document tampering or misrepresentation, alerting applicants that any data mismatch found during verification or the course of study will lead to immediate cancellation of admission and criminal prosecution.
