The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on March 11, 2021 has issued a notification under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 specifying the percentage of owners.
The following percentage of owners has been given:
• The manager of the Vehicle Recall Portal shall inform the designated officer under rule 127C of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, if the number of owners reporting an identical defect in particular motor vehicle, is equal to or more than the percentage for the category of the motor vehicle. The percentages have been given in the table according to the categories.
