Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Delhi on April 12, 2023, issued the Delhi Eating Houses Registration Regulations, 2023 for registration and controlling of the Eating Houses in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The foremost provisions of the regulations are as follows:

• Requirement of Registration- No person shall run or maintain an Eating House in the National Capital Territory of Delhi except as provided in these regulations, unless he holds a Certificate of Registration granted under the Delhi Police Act, 1978 in accordance with these Regulations, in respect of such Eating House.

• Application for Registration – Every person applying for a Registration Certificate for an Eating House shall furnish particulars in the online application form available on the Unified Portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

• Validity of Registration Certificate - Certificate of Registration granted/renewed shall be valid for a maximum period of three years, at a time, and shall expire on 31st March of the third year if not renewed earlier.

• Conditions for issue of Registration Certificate– Every Registration Certificate Holder shall comply with the conditions of the Registration Certificate and directions that may be issued by the Commissioner of Police/Registering Authority on this behalf from time to time.

They shall extend to the whole of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and come into force from April 12, 2023.
