class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Government of Tamil Nadu on February 18, 2025, notified regarding the Revision of the Minimum Rates of Wages for Employment in Hosiery Manufactory and Knitwear Manufactory.
The following has been stated namely: -
· The following minimum wages for employment have been fixed namely: -
(a) Cutting - Rs. 8098
(b) Tailoring - Rs. 8098
(c) Ironing - Rs. 8098
(d) Packing - Rs. 8098
(e) Fabrication - Rs. 8098
(f) Checking – Rs. 5434
(g) Labelling – Rs. 4990
(h) Hand folding – Rs. 4768
(i) Damage – Rs. 4635
(j) Fold and tie like Assistance - Rs. 4546
· It further provides that employees shall receive dearness allowance linked to the Chennai City Consumer Price Index (2012 average of 196 points), with Rs. 23.19 added monthly for every point increase above 196. Equal pay is mandated for men and women doing the same work, and daily wages are calculated by dividing monthly wages by 26.
