The Directorate of Ayush on May 19, 2025, under Section 4 of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 and Rule 3 of the corresponding Rules, 1955, has authorized all Drugs Inspectors of the Government of NCT of Delhi to exercise powers and perform duties under the Act within the territory.
This move enables strict regulatory action against objectionable advertisements of drugs and remedies, ensuring consumer protection and compliance with the legal framework concerning misleading or false health-related claims. This will empower enforcement of the Act against objectionable or misleading drug advertisements in Delhi.
