Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra on June 24, 2025, amended an older notification No. ARM 1096/21/2/Raushu-3, dated September 13, 1996, related to Liquor Duty Revision under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.

The following has been stated: - 

•The Maharashtra Government has amended entry No. 8 of the 1996 notification under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act. Local liquor from fermented fruits will now attract a duty of ₹50 per proof litre. 

•Spirits with a production cost up to ₹260 per bulk litre will incur 450% of production value or ₹750 per litre, whichever is higher; above ₹260, it's 300%. Additionally, duty in entry 10(c) is revised from ₹180 to ₹205 per proof litre.
