The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on October 07, 2025, notified regarding the enabling cash withdrawal through MicroATM using UPI at Business Correspondent (BC) touch points.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The RBI has permitted cash withdrawals through MicroATMs using UPI at Business Correspondent (BC) touchpoints, allowing customers to withdraw cash by scanning a dynamic UPI QR code displayed by the BC.
• The acquiring bank will be responsible for BC onboarding and compliance with existing RBI frameworks. Each transaction will be subject to a ₹5,000 per transaction, ₹10,000 daily, and ₹50,000 monthly limit, with mandatory two-factor authentication (excluding UPI Lite and credit accounts).
• Pricing will follow the existing MicroATM card-PIN withdrawal structure, excluding UPI-specific PSP and app fees.
• These transactions will be governed by existing AePS risk, dispute resolution, and reconciliation guidelines, with provisions for Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) and reporting in the UPI settlement system.
