The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB), on October 31, 2025, issued a Public Notice: Beware of Fraudulent Individuals Impersonating Officials of Goa State Pollution Control Board.
The following have been stated:
• It is brought to the notice of all, that some individuals claiming to be officials/staff/ officers/employees of Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) are contacting Industries /Establishments in the State, fraudulently informing them that action for closure of their establishments is being proposed at the Board's office.
• These individuals also falsely state that they can ensure action by the Board is avoided, provided the industries pay them an amount as a bribe
• Some of these individuals also falsely represent that they can ensure that the Board grants its Consent to such industries and are also fraudulently cheating industries to deposit Consent fees into their Bank Accounts by falsely claiming these accounts to be GSPCB's Bank Accounts.
• These individuals are also provide the industries with forged Consent Orders and other documents on the GSPCBs letterheads.
