The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I) on November 03, 2025, issued the draft amendments to the Trade Marks Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated namely: -
• After Rule 151, the following new rules shall be inserted, namely:
o “151A. Misconduct by a Trade Mark Agent/attorney”
o “151B. Complaint of Misconduct to Registrar”
o “151C. Procedure to deal with a complaint received under Rule 151B”
o “151D. Constitution of the Disciplinary Committee”
o “151E. Officer and other staff of the Disciplinary Committee constituted under 151D”
• After the Fourth Schedule, following the Fifth Schedule, shall be inserted: “THE FIFTH SCHEDULE - The Code of Conduct Trade Mark Agent/Attorney, 2025”.
