Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), on November 07, 2025, issued the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2025.

The following amendments have been stated:

• Objective of investigation of accidents and incidents. –– (1) The sole objective of the investigation of an accident or incident shall be prevention of accidents and incidents and not to apportion blame or liability.

• Any investigation conducted in accordance with the provisions of these rules shall be separate from any judicial or administrative proceedings to apportion blame or liability.

• Reopening of investigation. –– Where it appears to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau or the Central Government that any new and significant material evidence has become available after completion of the investigation under rule 11 or rule 12, as the case may be, it may, by order, direct the reopening of the same.
