Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), on November 7, 2025, issued a notification to all members of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) system regarding the revision of Turnaround Time (TAT) for raising and responding to Good Faith cases under the NETC Reconciliation and Clearing System (NRCS). The revision aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce processing latency for member banks when handling post-TAT transaction disputes.

Under the revised framework, the TAT for raising a Good Faith case (reason code 680) has been reduced from 160 days to 90 days from the transaction date. Correspondingly, the TAT for responding to Good Faith cases—including Good Faith accept (reason code 681), Good Faith decline (reason code 682), and Good Faith deemed decline (reason code 505)—has been shortened from 30 days to 15 days from the date of the initial Good Faith raise. These changes have been introduced to streamline dispute resolution and improve responsiveness between NETC member banks.

The revised TAT norms will come into effect from December 1, 2025, and NPCI has indicated that the inflow and handling efficiency of Good Faith cases will be reviewed again after six months to assess the need for further modifications. All member banks have been directed to circulate this update among their relevant operational and reconciliation teams for timely compliance.
