The Government of Kerala on November 07, 2025, issued a notification regarding Prohibition on Transportation of Liquor and Reorganization of Excise Range Jurisdictions at Nilackal, Pampa, and Sabarimala (Sannidhanam), Ranni Taluk.
The Government of Kerala, exercising powers under Section 9 of the Abkari Act, 1 of 1077, has prohibited the transportation of liquor or intoxicating drugs from any local area to the areas specified in the annexed schedule.
Additionally, for effective implementation of the Abkari Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, the Government has reorganized the jurisdiction of certain excise offices. The buildings allotted by the Travancore Devaswom Board at Nilackal, Pampa, and Sabarimala (Sannidhanam) in Ranni Taluk are hereby designated as new Excise Range Offices—namely, Nilackal, Pampa, and Sabarimala (Sannidhanam) Range Offices—each having jurisdiction over the respective local areas listed in the schedule.
This notification modifies the earlier order issued under G.O. (Ms.) No. 65/07/TD dated 29 March 2007 regarding jurisdictional boundaries of Ranni and Chittar Excise Range Offices.
