The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on November 12, 2025, announced the final redemption details for the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2017-18 Series-VII, originally issued on November 13, 2017, under the Government of India Notification F. No. 4(25)-(W&M)/2017 dated October 6, 2017. As per the terms of the scheme, the bonds are repayable after a tenure of eight years; hence, the final redemption will be due on November 13, 2025.
In accordance with the SGB guidelines, the redemption price is determined based on the simple average of the closing price of gold of 999 purity for the previous three business days preceding the redemption date, as published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. (IBJA). Accordingly, the redemption price for the 2017-18 Series-VII has been fixed at ₹12,350/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty only) per unit.
This redemption price reflects the average closing gold prices on November 10, 2025, November 11, 2025, and November 12, 2025. Investors holding this tranche will receive the redemption amount directly in their registered bank accounts on the maturity date.
