The Government of Odisha, on November 11, 2025, has declared the list of holidays for State Government Offices and Revenue and Magisterial (Executive) Courts for the calendar year 2026 (Saka Era 1947–48). The notification includes 29 public holidays under Annexure-I and 9 optional holidays under Annexure-II. These holidays will be applicable to all government offices and institutions functioning under the State Government of Odisha.
As per the notification, State Government employees will be permitted to avail one optional holiday from the list of festivals or commemorative occasions in Annexure-II, irrespective of their religion or denomination, with the written permission of the competent authority empowered to sanction casual leave. Moreover, certain holidays falling on Sundays, 2nd Saturdays, or 4th Saturdays have not been declared separately as holidays and are listed under Annexure-III.
The notification has been circulated to all departments, heads of departments, collectors, and other relevant authorities for compliance and necessary action. It also directs publication in the Extraordinary Odisha Gazette to ensure wide dissemination across the state.
