The following has been stated: -
•The Department of Food and Public Distribution has launched the amended Vegetable Oil Products Production and Availability (Regulation) Order, 2025, to enhance transparency and data-driven monitoring in the edible oil sector.
•Nationwide capacity-building workshops, starting on November 15, 2025, in Indore, will guide industry stakeholders on registration and monthly return filing via the VOPPA portal.
•The amendment mandates all edible oil producers to register and submit monthly data, with strict penalties for non-compliance.
•This initiative aims to strengthen national food security through accurate data and transparent supply chain monitoring.
