The Urban Local Bodies Department, Haryana on September 25, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Water/Sewer Connection and Metering Provisions in Municipal Areas
The following has been stated namely: -
• Residents in municipal areas (including villages within municipal limits) can either:
o Pay a one-time connection fee of ₹1,000 (water) + ₹500 (sewer) and bear the cost of materials/labour, or
o Pay regular water/sewer charges plus ₹10/month (for 15 years) towards connection fees and ₹25/month (for 6 years) for a department-provided water meter.
• Cost Responsibility & Exemptions:
o In the second option, all material, labour, and meter costs are borne by the service provider.
o No meter testing charges will apply if the meter is provided by the department.
o Charges for the meter won’t apply if a functional one already exists.
• Road cut charges are waived for five years from the September 25, 2025, except for consumers who fail to install a domestic water meter.
