Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Home, Goa on November 07, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Order on Tenant Verification and Security Measures.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The District Magistrate of South Goa issued this order to prevent crimes committed by individuals staying in hotels, guesthouses, or rented premises under false identities and bogus addresses.

• All owners, landlords, and managers of hotels, lodgings, guesthouses, shacks, paying guest facilities, and other temporary accommodations must verify the identity of tenants or guests using valid ID proof such as Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License.

• No property shall be let, sublet, or rented without furnishing tenant details to the Officer-in-Charge of the local police station.

• Accommodation providers must allow police inspections, maintain proper records, and cooperate with authorities. 

• Nationalized banks in South Goa must ensure round-the-clock security at ATMs, install CCTV cameras, or set up Electronic Surveillance Systems (ESS) with panic alarms and communication features.

The order is effective from November 05, 2025 for 60 days.
