The Director of Agriculture, Telangana on November 07, 2025, issued the Misbranded Pesticide Alert: Stop Sale and Public Awareness on Fipronil 5% SC (Stargent-SC) Batch SAFO3.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has issued a directive after lab analysis confirmed that Fipronil 5% SC (Stargent-SC), Batch No. SAFO3, manufactured by M/s. Star Crop Agro Chemicals, Vizianagaram, is misbranded because it contains only 0.22% active ingredient, below the required level.
• All District Agriculture Officers in Telangana have been instructed to impose a 30-day stop-sale order, publicize the alert through newspapers and magazines, and warn farmers not to purchase or use the affected batch.
• Officers shall also report detained stock details within three days, with strict action for non-compliance under the Insecticides Act, 1968.
