The Department of Industries, Energy, Labour and Mining, Government of Maharashtra on November 12, 2025, issued the Maharashtra Gem & Jewellery Policy 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to position the State as a global hub for the gem and jewellery sector by leveraging traditional manufacturing strengths, modern technologies, innovation, and inclusive growth.
• The policy outlines a five-year validity from the date of publication and aims to facilitate infrastructure enhancement, skill development, export growth, ease of doing business, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives totaling approximately ₹13,835 crore (₹1,651 crore during 2025-30 and ₹12,184 crore during 2031-2050), and establishing institutional frameworks for implementation.
• It mandates implementing departments to issue necessary notifications and directives and to publish the policy on the State’s website.
