The University Grants Commission (UGC) on November 13, 2025, issued a circular regarding the effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) in all Educational Institutions.
The following has been stated: -
•The University Grants Commission issued a D.O. letter on November 13, 2025, concerning the effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) in all educational institutions.
•This follows an initiative by the National Commission for Women (NCW), which has launched the "Campus Calling Programme" in collaboration with Yuvamanthan to enhance training, awareness, and compliance in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
•NCW proposes to organize 800 such programs nationwide. HEIs are requested to submit a status report on POSH implementation for the year 2024-25 via the UGC SAKSHAM Portal, ensure active faculty/staff participation in NCW training, and strengthen institutional compliance mechanisms.
•The Campus Calling Programme includes activities like online certification, interactive learning, expert workshops, a digital pledge, and the establishment of a Gender Sensitivity Ambassadors Program with four Campus Ambassadors per institution.
