The Government of Maharashtra, on November 14, 2025, notified regarding the revisions to Government Resolution on Orphan Reservation.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Government made amendments to the earlier Government Resolution (dated 06.04.2023) regarding orphan reservation. Key changes include:
• “1% of available posts” is replaced with “1% of vacant posts.”
• Eligibility for the “institutional” category is now restricted only to children raised in institutions under the Women and Child Development Department as per the Juvenile Justice Act. Earlier, children from other government-recognized orphanages were also included.
• The resolution continues to define reservation criteria, terms, implementation guidelines, certificate-issuing procedures, and sample certificate formats.
