The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, vide Order S.O. 5190(E) dated November 14, 2025, has extended the existing ceiling prices of Orthopaedic Knee Implants for Knee Replacement Systems that were earlier notified through S.O. 2668(E) dated August 16, 2017. These price controls were last extended through S.O. 4171(E) dated September 15, 2025, which was valid up to November 15, 2025.
As per this latest order, the NPPA has decided to further extend the ceiling prices applicable to Orthopaedic Knee Implants for a period of one year, i.e., up to November 15, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This extension ensures continued affordability of knee implants for patients and maintains pricing uniformity across the healthcare sector.
Additionally, all provisions and Notes (b) to (t) specified in the original notification S.O. 2668(E), dated August 16, 2017, shall remain in force during the validity of this order.
