The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. (MCX) on November 14, 2025, issued a circular regarding the Security Requirements for Members Connecting through MCX SSL VPN Solution.
MCX has reiterated and updated cybersecurity requirements for members connecting to its trading systems through SSL VPN in internet mode, referring to earlier circulars issued in April, May, and September 2025. Members must ensure their desktops use licensed, updated operating systems and applications, maintain current security patches, enable firewalls, install reputable endpoint security solutions with regular scans, and remove unlicensed or unnecessary software. VPN best practices include activating the VPN before accessing MCX systems, keeping VPN software updated, avoiding public Wi-Fi, and informing MCX of any change in mobile OTP clients or devices. Members must also use strong passwords and avoid non-trading internet activity on trading desktops. MCX may audit compliance, and failure to meet these requirements may result in connectivity issues. The Exchange urges strict adherence to protect the security and integrity of members and the MCX trading environment.
