The Government of Tamil Nadu, on November 15, 2025, issued a notification regarding the launch of Comprehensive Welfare Schemes for Sanitation Workers.
The following has been stated: -
•Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin launched major welfare schemes for 31,373 sanitation workers, including the Chief Minister’s Meal Scheme and 1,000 housing allotments.
•Families of two workers who died on duty received ₹10 lakh each, while 25 beneficiaries received subsidized loans for self-employment.
•A total of 1,260 students from sanitation workers’ families were granted ₹2.82 crore for higher education support.
•Under TAHDCO schemes, 1,000 beneficiaries received welfare aid worth ₹35 lakh, with continued support from the Sanitation Workers Welfare Board.
