The Government of Karnataka on November 17, 2025, issued the list of Holidays for 2026
The following has been stated namely: -
• The list of public holidays approved by the government for the year 2026 is published, this includes all second Saturdays, fourth Saturdays and Sundays.
• The following festivals are not included as it falls on Sunday: -
o Maha Shivaratri – February 15, 2026
o Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti – October 25, 2026
o Kannada Rajyotsava – November 01, 2026
o Naraka Chaturdashi – November 08, 2026)
o Mahalaya Amavasya – October 10, 2026
• Government offices across the state will be closed on public holidays.
• Heads of departments shall make appropriate arrangements to dispose of urgent office work.
• The dates of Islamic festivals may be granted on the festival day if the date changes from what is mentioned in the list.
