The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on November 17, 2025, issued a circular regarding the notification by the Government of India about withdrawal of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for Aluminium, Copper, Primary Lead, Refined Zinc and Refined Nickel.
The Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India has notified Quality Control Orders (QCOs) on August 31, 2023 for Aluminium & Copper. On April 17, 2025, QCOs for Primary Lead, Refined Zinc & Refined Nickel were issued as well. Accordingly, MCXCCL had issued circulars (Table attached) related to implementation of QCOs at MCXCCL accredited warehouses (MAW).
On November 13, 2025, The Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India has issued notifications to withdraw Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for Aluminium, Copper, Primary Lead, Refined Zinc and Refined Nickel. Hence, all of the above-mentioned circulars stand withdrawn with immediate effect. The delivery of Aluminium, Copper, Lead, Zinc and Nickel commodities at MAW will be governed by the delivery procedure issued by MCXCCL for respective commodities.
