The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), on November 17, 2025, has notified the Central Motor Vehicles (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2025, further amending the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
These amendments were finalized after considering objections and suggestions received from the public in response to the draft notification G.S.R. 600(E) dated August 27, 2025, issued under section 212(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988). The notification revises specific provisions under Rule 81, particularly substituting serial numbers 10 and 10A and their corresponding entries in the fee schedule table.
The amended rules take effect from the date of their publication in the Gazette of India, ensuring updated fee structures and compliance standards for vehicle-related services under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
