Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Jammu and Kashmir, on February 15, 2025, issued the Excise Policy 2025–26.

The following has been stated: -

•The Jammu & Kashmir Excise Policy for 2025-26 aims to optimize revenue and curb illicit trade by promoting social consciousness, encouraging low-alcohol consumption, and mandating complete digitalization. 

•It defines six license categories (Type A-F) for wholesale, retail in premises (Type B), and other uses. 

•New retail-on-premises licenses (Type B) will be granted in tourist-potential areas, while existing Type B licensees can serve on rooftops for an added fee. 

•Off-premises retail licenses (Type C/JKEL-2) will be allotted via e-auction to eligible J&K domiciles, with successful bidders required to meet a monthly Minimum Guaranteed Revenue (MGR) and Quota (MGQ).
