CDSL notified regarding the Non-Charging of AMC in Demat Accounts Consisting of Illiquid, Suspended or Delisted Securities

Secretarial ComplianceThe Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on November 17, 2025, notified regarding the Non-Charging of AMC in Demat Accounts Consisting of Illiquid, Suspended, or Delisted Securities.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It reminds Depository Participants (DPs) of the earlier Communique dated September 30, 2025, which mandates no Annual Maintenance Charge (AMC) on demat accounts holding only illiquid, suspended, or delisted securities.

• A DP-wise list of Beneficial Owners (BOs) whose accounts are in “To be Closed” status and contain only such securities has been shared in each DP’s billing folder.

• The file is named “BLNG<<DP ID>>NO_AMC_ISINS_18112025.tar”, if no such accounts exist for a DP, no file will appear.

• DPs shall ensure AMC is not charged to these BO accounts as per the conditions outlined in the September 30, 2025, Communique.
