Industry Specific ComplianceThe Excise Department of Jammu and Kashmir on March 20, 2025, notified regarding the fixation of the Maximum Retail Price of Locally Manufactured Beer, IMFL, and Draught Beer brands for sale in the civil market for the year 2025-26.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Government approves the Ex-Manufacturer Price, Ex-Wholesale Price, and Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for locally manufactured Beer, IMFL, and Draught Beer for sale in the Civil Market for 2025–26.

• The approved prices are detailed in Annexures K, L, M, and N, covering local beer brands, draught beer kegs, premium/medium/deluxe IMFL, and specific beer brands like Godfather, Six Fields, Rock Paper Rum, Oak Craft Reserve, etc.

• The order mandates that no retailer may sell above the fixed MRP, and any rounding-off difference in price is recoverable as a rounding fee.

• Draught beer pricing includes brewery price, assessment duty, bottling fee, excise duty, and landing cost calculations for bars/social occasions.

• The notification ensures uniform pricing, regulated distribution, and transparency across all wholesalers and retailers operating in the UT.
