Labour Compliance The Govt. of Assam on October 14, 2025, issued the Assam Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 to further amend the Assam Shops and Establishment Act, 2022.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In the principal act, section 6, sub-section (1), in the second line, for the words “five” appearing between the words “employing” and “or more”, the words “twenty” shall be substituted.

• In the principal act, Sections 11 & 13 have been substituted.
