The Govt. of Assam on September 25, 2025, issued the Assam Factories (Amendment) Rule, 2025 to further amend the Assam Factories Rules, 1950.
The following has been stated:
In rules 7, after sub-rule (2), the following sub-rule has been inserted-
(2a) The process of renewal of factory license shall be fully automated and instantaneous subject to the payment of renewal of fees as per Schedule A, B, and C of rule 5 through the designated online system under Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Portal. The renewed factory license shall be in force for a period of 10 years from the date of renewal.
