Industry Specific ComplianceThe Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on November 19, 2025, issued advisory for Dairy Units engaged in sale of milk and milk products through vending/kiosk machines and similar dispensing systems to strengthen food safety compliance.

FSSAI has encouraged Food Business Operators (FBOs) selling milk and milk products through vending machines, kiosks, or similar dispensing systems to adopt measures that enhance food safety, transparency, and consumer trust. To curb adulteration and ensure quality, dairy manufacturers operating such vending units are directed to keep FSSAI-approved rapid test kits at vending locations for basic detection of common adulterants.

Manufacturers must also display user instructions, enable consumer self-testing or staff-assisted demonstrations, ensure kits are valid and properly stored, and maintain records of kit usage and test results.
