Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on June 27, 2025, issued a circular regarding the implementation of New Exception Codes in the NETC Ecosystem.

The following has been stated: -

•MoRTH has introduced an Annual Pass scheme (effective August 15, 2025) allowing private vehicles toll-free access at designated NH/NE plazas for one year or 200 trips via FASTag.

•MLFF (Multi Lane Free Flow) tolling using RFID/ANPR is being rolled out, enabling barrier-free movement and post-facto e-notices for insufficient FASTag balance.

•To support these, NPCI is adding two new NETC exception codes: 07 (Annual Pass holders) and 08 (Pending e-notice), with system updates required by June–July 2025.

•Banks/entities must update issuer/acquirer systems, follow handling guidelines, and confirm readiness before the specified deadlines.
