The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), on June 14, 2025, notified regarding the distance to water body from petroleum retail outlets.
The following amendment has been stated:-
• The copy of Judgment dated 08/04/2025 in WP (C) No. 9228 of 2025 is enclosed.The case is regarding the measurement of distance to water body from petroleum retail outlets. It has been ordered by the Hon’ble Court that 50 meter mentioned in the CPCB guidelines is to be measured from the underground storage tanks and the dispensing units and not the boundary of the proposed Retail Outlet
• Thus, on a prima facie appreciation of the matter, this Court finds that the proposed retail outlet falls within the parameters stipulated in Exts.P6 guidelines.
